European topiary dates from Roman times. It is not known when the first topiary began, but ancient Romans mastered the art form.
Use of the topiary form has become a classic in home decor. But it can become stale unless you use creativity when placing this art form in your design. Break a rule and DON'T use a pair of topiaries, really! Keep an open mind when selecting the container for the topiary and also the shape and height of the topiary.
And did you know that the topiary form can be any greenery? Not just boxwood or ivy.
I think using this art form in clusters in multiple heights is pleasant, especially when keeping the container simple.
