We live in the small town of Etters, Pennsylvania that doesn't even have its own post office. The story has it that our postman's name was Mr. Etters and when mail was sorted for the area it was said, "that's Etters". Whether that is myth or fact is not confirmed. So when we are asked where we live we find it easier to say between Harrisburg and York.
What a difference a day makes, Sunday, June 19, Ty Pennington and his crew from Extreme Makeover-Home Edition, surprised the Keefer family with a home makeover.

Brian Keefer suffered a gymnastics injury almost three years ago that left him paralyzed from the chest down, 12 days before his 21st birthday. We don't know the family personally, but when something like this happens in a small community there is a rally of support as in any small town. Our daughter attended high school with one of the four Keefer sons.
Local contractor, Musser Builders and thousands of community volunteers are on the job round the clock to help remodel the Keefer home to create a fully accessible addition with a separate entrance so that Brian can have independence while still be close to his family.
