Be Inspired No. 35 - The Kilim Rug

The kilim rug was once considered the starter rug for rug collectors because they were less expensive. However, as most art forms are only appreciated later in their existence, the kilim rug has charactered itself as more than a rug.

Check out not only the kilim rug ottoman but the slippers!

Any of these kilim rug ottomans from West Elm will be just fine, thank you.

The kilim rug upholstered ottoman can add such a pop of color, texture, and pattern to any room. Love it!

Leave it to Anthropologie to kick it up a notch.

This is too cute!

Rethinking the Look of Things No. 25 - Sleeping Porch

Nothing is more perfect a sleep aid then the sounds of nature and a cool breeze. Rethinking the back porch should be a sleeping porch. For the lazy days of summer, a good book, and a tall cool glass of your favorite summertime beverage. For some of the best therapy on a long holiday weekend - to be caressed to sleep after a day filled with fun.

Speaking of Floors No. 4 - Brick and Stone

The texture, the pattern, and the color tones of a brick floor are so unique. Plus it has the advantage of bringing images of a charming French villa in the countryside.

Love the combination of the sisal rug on the brick floor.

Can't get enough of this room - the ceiling beams, iron window frames, and brick floor.

Well Dressed Home No. 17 - Floor Cushions

I'm all for plenty of comfy seating in a room. But I also love when that seating invites you to kick your shoes off and lounge on the floor if you'd like.

Floor cushions are a fun way to add a bit of casual to any room's environment.

Gotta Love No. 24 - Happiness Pot

Word has it that a traditional Chinese wedding gift was one of blue and white happiness pots for the newlyweds. The pots would contain the Chinese symbol for happiness. Blue and white porcelain is truly a work of art. I especially love the unique shapes some of these pots are made in.

If you haven't added a blue and white piece to your home be warned once you acquire the first piece you are in it for life. For you will not be able to stop collecting.

And no matter what bunch of fresh flowers you put in your blue and white they will be stunning.  Happy collecting!

RSVP Collection No. 36 - Dinner is Served

We all know that a dinner meal is what guests come for. But what stops them in their tracks is the tablescape. I'm loving these warm weather tablescapes. Whether by the water, on the deck, in the lush grass, in the sunroom, or even in the dining room - these ideas are fabulous!

Love this for outdoors by the firepit! The make your own smore box is adorable.

How lovely are the vintage wedding photos for this anniversary celebration?

Nothing more classic then herbs in worn clay pots.

Love the fishing net table runner.

Rethinking the Look of Things No. 24 - Nail It

A lot of things can be the "icing on the cake" but few things can be added with the finesse nailhead trim accomplishes. I marvel at the finishing touch these "tacks" make. Even on vintage and antique furniture it is just right.

But nailhead trim has been taken further then ever before in creating some wonderfully stunning pieces.

Loving this menswear fabric and sleekness of the nailhead trim!
Zebra rug isn't too shabby either!

Step back Michelangelo!

An upholstered headboard without nailhead is like an ice cream sundae without a cherry!

What a closeup!
