Colour Palette No. 3 - Hermes Orange

Did your heart just skip a beat or two? Trust me, I understand, a stack of Hermes boxes will do that to the strongest of us.  If this color has that affect on us, why not bring it into our homes a bit? This color that grips our heart with anticipation could create such a stunning environment.

Here are some of my favorite orange paint colors.

Benjamin Moore - Citrus Orange

Farrow & Ball - Charlottes Locks
New for 2011

Sherwin Williams - Raucous Orange

So whether you use this color, orange, as a refreshing accent in your home or as a room's main color palette - enjoy!

RSVP Collection No. 13 - Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Garlic Shrimp Pasta

2 lb. medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
1 lb. spaghetti noodles
4 garlic cloves, according to personal taste, minced
1/4 c. butter
olive oil (3 drizzles)
Italian seasoning
fresh ground pepper
red pepper flakes
1/2 t. salt
1 t. Old Bay seasoning
1/2 t. basil
1/2 t. marjoram

Boil pasta in water till tender, save 1 c. pasta water for use later. Drain and set aside when done.
While pasta is boiling, wash shrimp. Melt butter over medium heat. Add shrimp. Let cook til a little pink and starting to curl. Then add garlic. Cook 5-7 minutes, add oil. Continue to stir still shrimp is pink and curled.
Add pasta to skillet. Add seasonings. Add just enough saved pasta water till it is not dry but not swimming in liquid. Depending on amount of pasta this requires 1/2 the cup or all of it.
Start with adding 1/4 of it then work up from there.
Keep tossing all ingredients around in skillet till all is incorporated and hot. Enjoy!

Be Inspired No. 10 - Driftwood

I am continually in awe of nature and its abundant contribution to our surroundings outside, as well as inside our homes. How inspiring is driftwood? Carving out its beauty through harsh travel - getting tossed and turned at the whim of the ocean. Emerging as one of the most intriquing art forms.

Wrap this up for me and call it Christmas!

So I've determined it is going to take me about a year to find all the "just right" pieces of driftwood I need to add to my interior. Being a beach bum isn't such a hard price to pay to accomplish this. Anyone want to become a beach bum with me?

At the Window No. 1 - Sheers, Sexy and Romantic

I must say nothing says sexy and romantic more than fabric sheers at a window. The atmosphere created when the light shines through them is stunning. And when the breezes come through the open window...that is sheer pleasure.
