Rethinking the Look of Things No. 43 - Plates on the Wall, Chapter 2

Two and a half years ago I wrote a blog post about plates on the wall. I'm delighted to offer a second chapter to that post.  I love dishes! Plates, bowls, serving trays. And I'm loving the inspiration these images offer to boldly display one's love.

Whether displayed as a set or in a vignette gallery affect, plates add dimension to our walls.

 Give thought to this art form. It takes much arranging and then rearranging until you get just the right layout.

Speaking of Walls No. 8 - Wallpaper is Here! It Never Left!

The handpainted accentuation of wallpaper is lovely.

Trends can be too controlling. Be careful! I have lost count reading about wallpaper being back. In my opinion, it never left. We just get too wrapped up in trends and sometimes ignore the tried and true, the classics, the never failing.

Doing what a headboard just couldn't achieve alone.

If left without the wallpaper, the room would be lacking!

Can't say enough about the inspiration this paper creates!

It becomes your closet.

I never tire of the possibilities of the Birds of a Feather wallpaper collection!

A dream or a place visited!

Open sesame!

And for heaven's sake don't forget the ceiling!

Be Inspired No. 69 - Tea Height

There's just something about a spot of tea in the afternoon. Kudos to the English! And there's just something about a tea height table. Maybe it's the nod to unconventional. 

When I find myself using a tea height table in answer to a cocktail, most times it is because I found a table I just had to use somewhere in the space! 

Be inspired to use a tea height table in lieu of a cocktail table, but be certain to select a table that can handle the attention!

Be Inspired No. 70 - Stone on the Inside

Be inspired by possibilities! Defeat the notion the stone interior walls are cold and dungeon-like. With the right designer/architect partnership they can be a fabulous signature in your home design.

I think for me it would be begin with an attraction to a stone's character and coloration. Then I'd find myself looking for a place for it inside. There have been stone that I loved but found it to be too much for the exterior of a home. Well, here's where you can have your cake and eat it too, so to say!

So many possibilities!  An accent wall, a stairway enhancement, a room divider!

Played right and interior stonework could be part of what makes your bath more spa-like.
